Child-led therapy
Child-led therapy
Child-led therapy ensures that the child's needs and preferences are prioritised. It promotes confidence and self-efficacy (a person's belief in their ability to do something) as the therapist shows that the child's idea's are valuable. Children gain a sense of achievement through fulfilling their ideas.
Therapy is a collaboration between the child and the therapist. Being child-led enables the child to experience the natural motivation that comes with being interested, while the therapist can weave in therapeutic experiences.
